Ciara is a 19 year old Meanjin/Brisbane based artist and jeweler who independently runs the brand Maiko Jewellery. 

She is studying at Griffith uni majoring in painting where she is experimenting with various styles and concepts. Some topics of interest being, her identity as a queer Chinese/Irish woman on the spectrum, her interpersonal relationships, psychology, and
making social critiques. This year she's discovered her love for abstract expressionism and using it to help process and express emotions. 

Her label Maiko Jewelry focuses on making sustainable one-of-a-kind designs from high quality materials, a lot of which are sourced second hand and repurposed. She works with local photographers, models and fashion designers to curate experimental shoots
that priorities; diversity and representation in all areas. A popular feature of her business is that she takes commissions where you can design your own dream piece and bring your creative vision to life.
